ECU takes part in Bi-lateral and Uniform Articulation Agreements with two-year and four-year institutions.

Undergraduate Bilateral Agreements
What is a Bilateral Agreement?
Bilateral agreements are unique partnerships between one North Carolina Community College and ECU. These agreements allow students pursuing AAS degrees to transfer to a related major at ECU.

College of Allied Health Sciences

Health Information Management, BS
The Health Information Management, BS, emphasizes the development of skills for managing health information and the systems that collect, store, retrieve, disseminate, and communicate said information to support organizational operations and clinical and business decision making.
ECU has bilateral agreements between the Associate in Applied Science, Health Information Management and Health Information Management, BS, with the following colleges:

Clinical Laboratory Science, BS
Clinical laboratory scientists, also known as medical laboratory scientists or medical technologists, are hands-on scientists who provide accurate, timely diagnostic test results that directly impact patient care. These professionals perform biochemical testing of blood and body fluids, culture microbial pathogens, operate high-tech instrumentation, and prepare blood products for transfusion.
ECU has bilateral agreements between the Associate in Applied Science, Medical Laboratory Technology and Clinical Laboratory Science, BS, with the following colleges:

Business Administration, BSBA
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration allows students to choose from majors like Accounting, Finance, Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management. ECU has bilateral agreements for the BSBA with the following colleges:

Hospitality Management, BS
The Hospitality Management, BS is designed to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully manage a wide variety of hospitality operations, from hotels and restaurants to conventions and special events.
College of Engineering and Technology
The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology is a degree completion curriculum designed for students who have been awarded a qualified Associate in Applied Science in an industrial or technical related field. The BSIT is available for students at any of the 58 North Carolina Community Colleges. Specific agreements exist with the following schools:

College of Nursing
ECU’s Eastern North Carolina Regionally Increasing Baccalaureate Nurses (RIBN) provides students with a four-year option to complete an Associate Degree in Nursing and Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. The RIBN program dually admits students to ECU and one of the following community college partners:

ECU’s core curriculum in Biology is intended to give majors a background in biodiversity, cell biology, evolution, ecology, genetics, molecular biology, and physiology. ECU has partnered with Pitt Community College’s Associate in Applied Science, Biotechnology degree.

Uniform Articulation Agreements
What is an Articulation Agreement?
An articulation agreement is a contract between two schools allowing courses taken at one school to count toward a degree at the other school. ECU’s articulation agreements provide a smooth transfer for students coming from a NC community college.
