Transfer Evaluation Service (TES) for Faculty/Staff

The Transfer Evaluation System (TES) allows users and reviewers to quickly and easily evaluate transfer courses for articulation.

Why do I need to use TES?

All course articulations must be completed through TES. This allows both the Office of the Registrar and each Department to keep track of what courses have been submitted for review, reducing redundancy and increasing efficiency.

When do I use TES?

  • If a course does not automatically transfer upon a student’s credit evaluation, then it hasn’t been previously evaluated by the department for articulation, and should be submitted through TES for review.
  • Students receive credit for any college-level course from an institutionally accredited college or university where they’ve earned a “C-” or higher.
  • Upon initial evaluation, credit in the form of “1XXX” or “2XXX” will be awarded to the student for any course not already articulated. Per UNC Policy Manual 400.1.5.3 [R], “Regulation to Foster Undergraduate Transfer Student Success,” ECU has 15 business days to complete accurate transfer equivalency information and notify students of their transfer credit.

What is the difference between an Evaluation and an Equivalency in TES?

An evaluation, or evaluation task, is when a user submits a course for review by the department.

An equivalency is a completed, approved evaluation task.

  • All users and reviewers have access to evaluation information in TES.
  • Only Admins have the ability to create an equivalency in TES.
